Judy Mallett Baxter

Dr. Judy Baxter was born and raised in Mississippi. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State University in 1991. After her externship at St. Francis as a student, Dr. Baxter fell in love with the community and returned after graduation to practice at Republican Valley Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Judy has become well known for her skills in canine reproduction and provides progesterone testing, semen evaluation, artificial insemination, and Cesarean sections to the tri-state area. In her free time, Dr. Judy enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Daryl, and her sons, Cody and Jesse. In her free time, she attends her son’s football games, golfs, works in the yard with her dog, Leo, or spends time with friends.
"Mother Mary"
Mary was raised in Beloit, Kansas, and moved to St. Francis in 1982 to pursue a career teaching art to children K-12. After retiring from teaching, Mary started to help at the veterinary clinic in 2016. Mary does a fantastic job keeping up with lots of laundry, washing surgical packs, doing general cleaning in the clinic and the barn, and always finding a way to brighten the day of those around her. Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, Andy, and two children, Mariah and Martin. When not spending time with family, she tends to her garden or bakes delicious meals and treats.
Jessica
Veterinary Technician
Jessica was born and raised in eastern Nebraska. She attended Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, NE, where she gained some knowledge in the animal field. Jess joined our vet team in 2019. She enjoys small animal work, lab work, and helping out with critical care patients. She also loves the small number of exotics that come in and enjoys being able to work for a mixed animal practice. Jess takes pride in offering paw prints for loved ones who have passed on. She enjoys many activities in her spare time, including playing with and cuddling with her two dogs, gardening, canning, fishing, camping, tending to her chicken and duck flock, hatching chicks, and photography.
JaNan
Groomer
Janan is originally from Iowa and moved to the area at a young age. She has provided grooming services for the past 20 years and takes pride in keeping the area dogs looking beautiful. Janan takes the time to work with each dog’s needs, showing patience and sincere kindness with each animal that enters her office. Janan enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, Gavin, Gaten, and Garin, and their families. The Coopers show Boer goats on the national level, and she is often busy on the family farm, working with and taking care of the goats.
Dalton
Veterinary Technician
Dalton is a Saint Francis native and has always enjoyed being a part of the local community. He joined the vet clinic team in 2020 and excelled in large animal and companion animal work. Dalton enjoys days out on the ranch working cattle and has quickly become a skilled assistant in cattle OB work. He is also extremely compassionate and can make nervous dogs and cats feel more at home by taking extra time to make them feel more comfortable in the clinic. Dalton’s hobbies include playing video games, working on old cars, and hanging out with his good ole’ Golden Retriever, Swede.
